The History of Ford Motor Company

Founded by Henry Ford in Dearborn, Michigan, on June 16, 1903, the Ford Motor Company has consistently led the way in automotive innovation and enjoyment.

Before establishing the Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford was already experimenting with cars. In 1896, he built his first experimental vehicle, the Quadricycle, in a small workshop behind his house. By 1913, Ford had perfected the assembly line at its Highland Park, Michigan plant, drastically reducing the cost and time required to produce the Model T.

Henry Ford also focused on his workforce's well-being. In a groundbreaking move in 1914, he introduced a minimum wage that was significantly higher than the average at the time. This initiative helped retain skilled workers and boosted productivity.
